In his second solo exhibition in Korea, II. Trauma, Justin Cho critically examines the collective psychology and cultural contradictions of contemporary society, exploring how media and commercialization shape human perception and values.

Justin Cho reflects on the lasting traces of suffering and how the meaning of trauma becomes increasingly distorted in a society driven by comfort and convenience. Through two central themes, Circus and Selfies, he explores obsession, anxiety, dependence on external validation, and social assumptions about age and maturity, while criticizing an entertainment industry that commodifies these emotions and experiences. Viewing a society in which everything becomes a spectacle as a vast circus, Cho approaches reality with a cynical and satirical perspective, yet ultimately leaves room for a more hopeful possibility. He finds this possibility in the human capacity to think independently, question prevailing narratives, and form judgments beyond blind conformity.
